How to Import Garages to Rapid.lk

This guide provides a step-by-step process for importing garages to Rapid.lk using a CSV or TXT file. Follow these instructions to ensure a smooth import process.

Step 1: Access the Garages Import Page

  • Navigate to My Account > Garages > Garages Import
  • Click on the “Garages Import” icon located in the upper-right corner of the page.

Step 2: Choose a CSV File

  • On the Garages Import page, click the “Choose File” button.
  • Navigate to your computer and select the CSV or TXT file you want to import.
  • Example: If your file is named "garages_list.csv", locate and select that file.

If you select an invalid file type, an error message will appear: “Invalid file type. The importer supports CSV and TXT file formats”.

Step 3: Update Existing Garages (Optional)

  • If you want to update existing garages by matching them through their ID or SKU, check the box labeled: “Existing garages that match by ID or SKU will be updated. Garages that do not exist will be skipped”.

Step 4: Choose Advanced Options (Optional)

  • Click on the link labeled "Show advanced options" to reveal additional settings.
  • Path to CSV File on Server:

If your file is hosted on a server, provide the file path here. 

  • Example: /uploads/garage_data.csv
  • CSV Delimiter:

Specify the character that separates values in your CSV file (default is a comma,). 

  • Use Previous Column Mapping Preferences:

Select this if you’ve previously mapped columns in the same format to save time. 

Step 5: Start the Import Process

  • After filling in the necessary details, click the "Continue" button to proceed.
  • This will open the Column Mapping section.
  • In the Column Mapping section, map the fields from your CSV file to the appropriate garage fields on Rapid.lk.
  • Once field mapping is complete, click on the 'Run the Importer' button.

Step 6: Confirm Import Completion

  • After clicking Run the Importer, you will be directed to the Import section.
  • Once the import is complete, a success message will appear: “Import complete! garages imported.”
  • Once field mapping is complete, click on the 'Run the Importer' button.

Example: “Import complete! 12 garages imported.” 

  • Click the “VIEW GARAGES” button to review the imported garages.
